Globally people consume food outside of the traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In America, snacks went through several stages of popularity. In its early stages, during the 1860s, snacks were stigmatized because of their association with immigrants, unhygienic street vendors, and saloons. The middle-class etiquette of the Victorian era (1837–1901) categorized any food that did not require proper usage of utensils as lower-class.
In 1920-1933, snacks received a makeover of packaging and rebranding to make them more appealing to the public. This new approach allowed the display of the company logo and reduced the risk of contamination, and led to a boom in snacks’ popularity.
By the 1950s, snacking had become an all-American pastime, with an internationally recognized emblem of middle-American life. It is now a mainstay at sports events and parties.
Today’s Pantry Smoked Salmon bites help manage your energy levels between meals and keep you from overeating during the main course. In this dish salmon’s sweet taste is balanced with sour cream and capers, and when served with fitness bread, they are hearty, savory, and deliciously meaty.
